CCTV Finance reported on October 28 that consumer electronics and AI smart hardware are the fastest-growing export categories of this fourth-quarter peak season, with AI glasses and AI companion robots scaling rapidly overseas. A Shenzhen laptop exporter saw orders up about 40 percent year on year; a 3D printer maker moves roughly 100,000 units a month, is running at full capacity with some orders booked into next year, and draws over 90 percent of revenue from abroad. One platform's overseas warehouse stock has grown more than 100 percent. Meanwhile a container to Los Angeles now costs about 12,000 US dollars, up from under 6,000 in Q2.
For overseas buyers and channel partners, two practical takeaways: the supply window for Chinese AI hardware (AI glasses, companion robots, 3D printers) is open, but hot categories are already booked out, so lock capacity early; and with freight costly and space tight, new customs modes such as inspect-before-stuffing cut clearance time by half and total costs by 30 percent — factor both into port and logistics choices.
